Emerging Markets: Beyond the Technology Trade

 

Foresight Analytics founding director Jay Kumar was recently featured in The Inside Adviser, one of Australia’s leading publications for financial advisers, accountants, and investment professionals.

In the article, Jay challenges a widely held assumption about emerging market investing, that a broad EM allocation delivers genuine diversification. His central argument is that the EM narrative has become so heavily concentrated around Asian technology, particularly semiconductors, AI infrastructure and related supply chains in Taiwan, South Korea and parts of China, that investors risk confusing technology sector exposure with true emerging market diversification.
